About BoheMia
Studio BoheMian is the creative practice of Mia Rose, a craft-artist based in Red Hill, Australia. Her work covers a range of materials and processes, including weaving, ceramics, and printmaking. Often taking long periods of production and utilising a range of tools, her practice seeks to celebrate the utilitarian quality of art as well as the pure, contemplative labour of making work.
Currently completing mentorship under artist and weaver Emma Shepherd, supported by the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council from 2025 to 2026, Mia made her debut with a solo exhibition at Alternating Current Artspace, in 2021 titled “The Disembodied”, followed by her graduate show “MADA NOW” in 2022, reviewed for Mass Memo. Since then, Mia has been completing a postgraduate degree in Art Curation with research in Japanese weaving history, having completed an undergraduate degree in Fine Art.
